Context:
The Union Minister for Commerce and Industry launched the Logistics Excellence, Advancement, and Performance Shield (LEAPS) 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, marking the 4th Anniversary of PM GatiShakti.
About LEAPS 2025:
Overview:
LEAPS 2025 is a national benchmarking initiative to recognise excellence, innovation, and leadership in India’s logistics sector. It aims to make India’s logistics globally competitive and aligned with PM GatiShakti and the National Logistics Policy (2022).
Launched by:
Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in October 2025.
Objectives:
- Benchmark logistics performance and encourage best practices.
- Promote sustainability, digitalisation, and integrated logistics systems.
- Strengthen synergy among government, industry, and academia.
Key Features:
- Covers 13 categories, including air, rail, road, and maritime freight, warehousing, MSMEs, startups, and e-commerce logistics.
- Promotes ESG compliance, green logistics, and innovation-driven growth.
- Encourages inclusive participation across public and private stakeholders.
- Supports national goals under Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Viksit Bharat 2047.
- Applications and nominations are open on the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal (awards.gov.in).
