Context

The 4th edition of World Food India (WFI) 2025 will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister on 25th September 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.


What is World Food India?

  • A flagship international event organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI).
  • Serves as a global platform for food innovation, investment, technology, and sustainability.
  • Conceptualised to position India as a food processing hub and strengthen its image as the “Food Basket of the World.”

Origin and History

  • First edition: 2017.
  • Subsequent editions: 2023, 2024, and now the 4th in 2025.
  • Designed to attract domestic and foreign investment into India’s food processing sector.

  • Promote investment in food processing and related industries.
  • Strengthen farm-to-fork linkages and value addition.
