Context:
On 29 August 2025, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) approved eight Digital Connectivity Rating Agencies (DCRAs) to assess telecom and internet quality inside buildings and provide star ratings.
What is Digital Connectivity Rating?
- A framework under TRAI Regulations 2024.
- Evaluates in-building telecom and internet infrastructure.
- Provides star ratings (1–5) for connectivity strength, coverage, and reliability.
- Aims to bring transparency for residents, tenants, and businesses.
Objectives
- Help consumers make informed property choices based on digital readiness.
- Encourage developers to build telecom-friendly infrastructure.
- Support Digital India and Smart City initiatives.
- Ensure readiness for 5G and future 6G technologies.

- Approved Agencies (8): Ardom Towergen, Crest Digitel, CTL Infocom, ESTEX Telecom, Frog Cellsat, Phistream Consulting, Shaurrya Teleservices, and TUV SUD South Asia.
- Validity: Registrations valid for 5 years (from 27 Aug 2025).
- Assessment Manual: Released by TRAI on 13 Aug 2025.
- Scope: Residential complexes, offices, malls, and high-rise buildings.
